Review by Admin:

After the nastiness of the first movie in the series, I was quite prepared for the ensuing gorefest that passes for entertainment in the mind of Eli Roth.

Surprisingly, the gorehounds may feel cheated as there is a considerable shortfall of blood letting compared to the previous film. Sadly there is also a huge deficit in any frights. There is even a rip off of Hammer films with a scene reminiscent of Ingrid Pitt bathing in virgins blood in "Countess Dracula". This sort of derivitive trash is a sad state of affairs for the horror industry. What's happened to good, honest chills. It's been so long since a truly scarey film assaulted our senses. Instead we have sadistic, unoriginal, and needless to say, moronic and substandard brutality, served up to a public already anaesthetised by the Saw trilogy.

The one interesting touch in this film is when one of the protagonists has a total turnaround in their character. Other than this tiny glimmer of original thought, there is absolutely nothing to recommend this drivel to any sane cinema goer.

Its dreadful. Mark Kermode said that Eli Roth should be "sent to bed without any supper". I agree with this sentiment. It really is adolescent drivel of the highest order. I'm so glad I didn't go to the cinema to watch it. The guy is just fueling his own infantile imagination with weak gore filled scenes of nastiness - only there is less of it in this one, except for the guy getting his knob chopped off, which is quite frankly just silly. I just wish there was a zero on this scoring mechanism.
