Review by Admin:Right from the start you know there's a twist coming and if you can't work it out then you really aren't paying attention.
Set in 1954, the movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio as U.S. Marshall Teddy Daniels, sent to a high security mental institution called Shutter Island. He and his partner are trying to discover the whereabouts of a missing inmate.
I had the impression that Scorsese made this film in order to have some fun. It's B-movie sensibility is obvious from the outset, with a thumping, over the top sound track full of loud bangs and thunder claps.
The fact that you can see the twist coming didn't prevent me from enjoying it immensely. |
