Just an expensive remake of the Ray Harryhausen stop motion original.
As far as Harryhausen effects movies go, Clash of the Titans certainly wasn't up there with the classics like Jason and the Argonauts, or the Sinbad series. With this remake I was hoping for much more than was delivered. We have a bored looking Sam Worthington with a performance leaning towards not bothering. Perseus even has an Aussie accent. Some of the worst 3D I've witnessed recently. It was added post production, thereby making the print dimmer and with the specs, dimmer still.

The only good thing are the effects, particularly the snake haired Medusa and the Kracken. Other than that, the giant scorpions start well but become risible when used as transport. The screenplay is pretty terrible (Kasdan should be ashamed) and rushed, but not in a good, effective pacing way. All in all, pretty disastrous, lots of money wasted in a pointless rehash. Great effects, but ultimately a bit dull, in every sense of the word.
