Review by Admin:Did we really need another Shrek movie? Well as far as parents with kids are concerned, yes. We need as much of this kind of stuff as possible to give us options on rainy days.
The story this time is that Shrek is living happily ever after, so the Dreamworks people have invented a back-story where Rumplestiltskin had very nearly conned the King (John Cleese) out of his kingdom. Thwarted by Shrek, Stiltskin eventually has the opportunity to get his own back on our green hero...
...but not with the hilarious consequences that I hoped for. The problem is that all of the jokes are a lilttle bit staid now. The same characters do the same kind of thing. However, there is a happy ending and the kids stayed entertained for the length of the film. But as is always a good measure of the quality of a kids movie, they haven't asked to see it again. |
