Review by Admin:Based on Johnny Cash's autobiography and book 'The Man In Black' this is the story of Cash's life up to the legendary live album recording in Folsom prison in 1968. And, what a story it is!
The film starts with Cash backstage, waiting to 'go on' at Folsom. We are then spirited back in time to Cash's childhood and the story then continues back to the starting point.
Joaquin Phoenix is fantastic as Cash whose early life and frustrated love of June Carter (Witherspoon) makes for a wonderful tale.
An absolute gem. |
